Blue Barrel Surf School is Cornwall's mobile private surf school, bringing expert, personalised surf coaching to the best beaches across the county, from St Ives Bay to South Fistral.

I’m Jack, an ISA Level 1 qualified surf instructor with over 12 years of surfing experience and 8 years of professional coaching. I grew up surfing on the Isle of Wight before moving to Cornwall to pursue my coaching career, and I’ve since developed a deep understanding of the local beaches, tides, and conditions, knowledge that allows me to consistently find the best waves for your session.

I started Blue Barrel because I believe private surf lessons should be exactly that. Private, personal, and focused entirely on you. No groups of eight strangers. No shouted instructions from the shore. Just you, the ocean, and coaching that's built around where you are right now and where you want to get to.

Every session is delivered at the beach best suited to the conditions on the day. I carry a full range of surfboards. from wide, stable learner boards to mid-lengths and hybrids for improvers, so you're always on the right equipment for your level.

Whether you're catching your first ever wave or trying to nail your first bottom turn, I'll be in the water with you every step of the way.
