About Our Surf Lessons
At Blue Barrel Surf School, our private surf lessons are all about you. Whether you're building confidence in the white water, improving your pop-up, or learning to ride green waves and start turning, we tailor each session to suit your individual level.
With a focus on small private groups, our professional and experienced surf instructors give you the attention and guidance you need to progress faster in a fun, relaxed and safe environment. Every lesson is personalised, making your surf experience both rewarding and memorable.
Locations and Timings
We offer surf lessons at several beaches across Cornwall’s north and south coasts. When booking, just choose your preferred location, we’ll only suggest a change if conditions aren’t suitable. Not sure which beach is best? We’re always happy to help you pick the ideal spot.
Once we receive your booking request, we’ll be in touch to confirm your lesson and share useful info like parking options and nearby facilities.
Blue Barrel Surf School runs lessons all year round.
Winter (Nov–March): 10AM & 1PM sessions
Summer (April–Oct): 10AM, 1PM & 4PM - plus optional sunset sessions

Our surf lessons are 2 hours long in duration. Please note some locations may require a short walk in which case the session timings may be slightly longer. We will notify you if this is the case.

No wetsuit or surfboard? We’ve got you covered. Included in your lesson is use of our high quality wetsuits and accessories. Our quality wetsuits are guaranteed to keep you toasty during your session. We also have a wide selection surfboards for you to use whatever your ability free of charge.
